On February 11th we welcome Wirijn Tholen the Founder and Managing Director of Sensiblue and Mrs Deborah Kulubya Luyima from Nsawo Community Development Project (NCDP-Uganda).
Jointly they will discuss how Sensiblue’s innovative chlorination system works and present its community-level water safety outcomes from installations in 8 rural Ugandan schools. Attendees will gain insights into its technical specifications and practical lessons from field implementation. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of its utility, challenges, and best practices for implementation. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A to explore your questions and ideas.
Sensiblue is a waterflow-powered chlorination system that generates active chlorine (0.2-0.4 mg/L) through in-situ salt electrolysis, requiring no external electricity. The technology is compatible with gravity-fed or solar-powered pump systems, with its only maintenance being salt refills. The latest version of Sensiblue (S4) was launched in June 2025, which is fully approved for use in drinking water systems and offers powerful disinfection to households or small communities.
Nsawo Community Development Project (NCDP-Uganda) is a community-based nonprofit headquartered in Luwero District, Central Uganda, that has reached over 25,000 people through integrated programs in primary healthcare, clean water and sanitation, education, and economic empowerment.
