This online course provides practical guidance on chlorination for safe drinking water in emergency settings, with a focus on accurate dosage calculation and field application. Participants will explore key concepts such as free, combined, and residual chlorine, and the critical factors to consider before chlorinating water.

Through step-by-step instruction and applied exercises, learners will use the Horrocks’ Test to determine appropriate chlorine doses based on water quality conditions. The course also introduces methods for measuring turbidity, pH, and chlorine levels, and addresses common operational challenges encountered in the field. Participants will gain confidence in calculating and applying correct dosages for both batch chlorination and shock chlorination of tanks and wells.
