Participants will be able to calculate the correct chlorine dosage for drinking water in emergency settings.

Topics covered in the course include definitions of free, combined, and used chlorine, as well as key factors to consider before chlorinating. Participants will learn to use the Horrocks’ Test to calculate the chlorine dose required for specific water qualities and practice methods to measure turbidity, pH, and chlorine levels. The course also addresses common field challenges encountered during chlorination and provides guidance on calculating appropriate dosages for both batch chlorination and shock chlorination of tanks and wells.
